Swimming lessons for children
Where learning is fun for everyone
At The Wavement Swim School, we believe that your child deserves an amazing swimming experience in the safest and most enjoyable environment possible.
Why we are different: Innovative use of video and pool screen technology
to create immersive swimming learning experiences.
Our method
The Wavement teaches according to the Starfish Swimming method, which allows students to achieve an internationally recognized swimming diploma from the Starfish Aquatics Institute (SAI). The method is divided into 8 phases, each focusing on a safety skill and swimming proficiency. Together, these form the path to the Starfish Swimming diploma.
Start the swimming lesson
Children can start regular swimming lessons from the age of 4.5. Our swimming lessons are conducted in groups of 6 children. New groups start every 8 weeks. Each group has its own swimming instructor, who guides the group in achieving all safety and swimming skills during the first 8 periods. During the last period (8 to 16 weeks), your child will focus on endurance and swimming distances. This takes place at a separate time and may be led by a different instructor.
Control cards
During the swimming lessons, the instructor uses control cards. The instructor will regularly divide the group into 2 groups. The instructor will then guide one group, while the other group works with the control cards. They can choose which control card they want to practice. This way, the instructor can provide more attention and guidance to each child individually. Additionally, it is efficient, as each child remains more active, and children also enjoy being able to choose themselves.
Our teachers
All our teachers are certified swimming instructors, Starfish Aquatics Institute swim instructors, and hold the StarGuard Lifeguard certification. Our teachers undergo annual refresher courses and further training to maintain these certifications.
Aquatic Screen
Examples are displayed by the teacher on our unique aquatic screens. This allows the teacher to provide immediate explanation about the swimming stroke and demonstrate perfectly from various angles how it should be done.
